Description

<p>Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) is a Government of India scheme launched in May 2016 to provide clean cooking fuel such as LPG to women from poor households. The scheme aims to reduce dependence on traditional cooking fuels such as firewood, coal and cow-dung cakes and improve access to clean cooking fuel. Under PMUY, eligible adult women can obtain an LPG connection subject to the scheme's eligibility conditions.</p>

Eligibility

<p>An applicant must be a woman who has attained 18 years of age and must belong to a poor household based on the prescribed deprivation declaration. There should not be another LPG connection from any Oil Marketing Company in the same household. Applicants are required to submit the prescribed KYC and supporting documents.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>

Benefits

<ul><li>Government cash assistance is provided towards the cost of the PMUY LPG connection.</li><li>The assistance covers eligible connection-related costs such as the LPG cylinder security deposit, pressure regulator, LPG hose, consumer card and installation/inspection/demonstration charges.</li><li>PMUY beneficiaries are also provided with the first LPG refill and a stove (hotplate) free of cost by the Oil Marketing Companies.</li><li>The connection is provided without requiring the beneficiary to pay the applicable security deposit for the covered connection components.</li></ul>

Documents Required

<ul><li>Know Your Customer (KYC) application form</li><li>Applicant's Aadhaar card as Proof of Identity</li><li>Ration Card or other State Government document certifying family composition</li><li>Aadhaar cards of the adult family members listed in the family composition document</li><li>Proof of Address, if the current address is different from the Aadhaar address</li><li>Bank account details (passbook copy or cancelled cheque)</li><li>Deprivation Declaration for establishing eligibility as a poor household</li><li>For migrant applicants, the prescribed self-declaration for address and family composition may be submitted.</li></ul>

Application Process

<ul><li>Check whether you meet the PMUY eligibility criteria.</li><li>Complete the prescribed KYC/application form.</li><li>Keep the required documents, including Aadhaar, family-composition document, bank account details and deprivation declaration, ready.</li><li>Submit the application to an LPG distributor of your choice or apply through the official online PMUY application facility.</li><li>The LPG distributor/concerned process will verify the submitted details and documents.</li><li>After successful verification and approval, the eligible applicant receives the PMUY LPG connection and applicable scheme benefits.</li></ul>
